Debbie Rodriguez

Psycho Education Specialist | Program Leader

Debra Rodriguez brings many years of experience and a passion for the population we serve at Unbridled. 

In addition to her work with Unbridled, she serves as the Executive Director of Nicole’s Place where she runs a residential facility that serves single moms who have been victims of sex trafficking, helping them to overcome past trauma and patterns of dysfunction in their lives. She also serves as a Psychology Professor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

 

Debra holds a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Christian Counseling from University of MaryHardin-Baylor. She has worked on military posts to help soldiers returning from war to overcome the trauma and reintegrate with their families.Next, she served as a counselor for STARRY, a nonprofit agency providing free counseling for children and their families. She is fascinated with neuroscience and has taken over 50 hours of continued education which enhances the work she does with all populations she serves.

 

On another note, Debra is a very proud wife of a Veteran of the United States Army. They have 5 children, 3 of whom were adopted, and 2 amazing grandsons. She also runs an equine rescue, where she rescues broken, abandoned, and abused horses, and provides them sanctuary to heal and live the life God intended for them. 

 

Debra eagerly brings together her knowledge from her career and her passion for animals, to help others heal and grow.
